6 | Stripe Guide

Please follow the steps below to create your own Stripe account:

Step 1: Complete the GoCardless Mandate

This allows us to collect fees directly from your bank, simplifying payments.

Step 2: Register with Stripe

1.Go to Stripe Registration. https://dashboard.stripe.com/register
2.Fill in the required details to create your Stripe account.



Step 3: Verify Your Email

1.After registering, check your email inbox for a verification message from Stripe.
2.Click on the Verify Email Address button in the email.




Step 4: Add Business Information

1.Log into your Stripe account.
2.Provide your business information as prompted by Stripe’s setup process.
  1. Enter details about your business, including:
    1. Business name
    2. Business address
    3. Business phone number
    4. Business type (e.g., individual, corporation, partnership)
3.Set Up Bank Account:
  1. Provide your bank account details for payouts, including:
    1. Account number
    2. Routing number
    3. Account type (checking/savings)
4.Verify Identity:
  1. Upload identification documents to verify your identity, such as:
    1. Government-issued ID (passport, driver’s license)
    2. Social Security Number (for individuals) or Employer Identification Number (for businesses)
5.Provide Additional Information:
  1. Depending on your business type, you may need to provide:
    1. Business registration documents
    2. Tax information (W-9 or W-8 form)
    3. Description of products or services offered




Please select the second option when presented with the choices below.



Step 5: Account ID and API Keys:

1. Click on Settings > Business and copy your Account ID.
2. Next, click on Developers > API Keys and provide us with your Secret Key and Publishable Key.
3.1. Copy the Test mode client ID
3.2. Switch off Test Mode
3.3. Copy 
Live mode client ID
4. Click on Connect, then select Connected Accounts. From there, add a new connected account and follow the steps to complete the setup.
4.1. Once completed, click on your connected account, go to Settings, and under Profile, copy the Connected Account ID.
5. Finally, email help@flowte.com with all the information you gathered.













Please ensure that card payments are enabled on your Stripe account.

To do this:

  1. Go to "Connected accounts."
  2. Select your account.
  3. Scroll down to the "Capabilities" section.
  4. Click on "Edit" and request to add card payments from there.
