Overview

Bundles let you sell several performances together as one purchase. They are ideal for season tickets and subscriptions, where a customer pays once and has the same seat for every show in the season, and for flex packs, where customers choose their own shows and pay less for booking more.

●      Bundle (season ticket): One price for a fixed set of performances, for example all five main house productions in your autumn season. The customer buys once and receives entry to every performance, usually in the same seat

●      Flex pack: Customers choose a minimum number of shows from a list and a discount is applied, for example any four shows from our ten for 20% off

Bundles are sold at the box office through Point of Sale and online on your booking pages, just like single tickets.

How bundle pricing works

A season ticket is built from three parts:

●      The individual events: Each production in the season. Every event has its normal single ticket types, for example Adult and Concession, and matching bundle ticket types, for example Adult Season Ticket and Concession Season Ticket

●      The bundle base event: An extra event that holds the season ticket prices, for example 2026/27 Season Ticket, with Adult Season Ticket at £120 and Concession Season Ticket at £100

●      The bundle: The rule that links the events and the base event together into one purchasable season ticket

The bundle ticket types on each individual event are priced at zero and hidden, so they can’t be bought on their own. The customer pays the season price set on the base event, and receives a zero value ticket for each performance. In your reports, the season ticket revenue sits against the base event, which is why it needs a clear name.

Set up a season ticket

Set up the events

●      Create the first event in your season in Calendar & Scheduling > Events. If show details aren’t confirmed, call it Show 1 and rename it later

●      Add the single ticket types with their normal prices, for example Adult £28 and Concession £24

●      Add the matching bundle ticket types priced at zero, for example Adult Season Ticket £0, and set them to hidden in the ticket settings and in the sources dropdown

●      Set the Selection Type dropdown to Buttons, and add any upsells, such as programmes or interval drinks

●      Once the first event is right, use Copy Booking to create the other events: set the number of copies and the names, then click Copy Booking

Before copying, check that:

●      Every event uses the same venue and seating plan

●      Every event is in the future, and no ticket types have passed their off sale date

●      Every event has both single and season ticket types, for example if there is an Adult ticket there is an Adult Season Ticket

●      Delivery methods are the same on every event

●      For a venue with reserved and unreserved areas, the sections are combined, you choose Yes on Copy All Times, and you rename unreserved areas using Edit Prices > Custom Name, for example Standing or Studio Seating

Set the season prices

●      Add one more event in the same way. This is the bundle base event

●      Name it clearly for reporting, for example 2026/27 Season Ticket

●      Add the season ticket types and their prices. Only ticket types that exist on every event in the season can be used

Create the bundle

●      Go to Sales & Payments > Bundles and choose Create Bundle

●      Enter the Season Name and Season Description as customers will see them, for example 2026/27 Main House Season, Five shows, one great seat

●      Under Select Bookings, choose every event in the season and the bundle base event

●      Under Select Discount, choose No Discount, since the price is already set on the base event. Click New Discount if it isn’t listed

●      Optionally choose a promoter under Select Promoter and an e-ticket design under Digital Pass Designs

●      Click Create

The season ticket now appears at the box office and online as something customers can buy, and in the table on the right of the screen.

Selling season tickets

At the box office

●      Go to Sales & Payments > Point of Sale and choose the season ticket

●      Choose the seats and the season ticket types, for example two Adult Season Tickets in Stalls row E

●      At checkout, choose Customer and attach the contact. Season tickets should always be linked to a customer, so you can issue contact cards, send renewals next season and contact them about the season

●      Take payment as normal, for example by Card Reader, Card or Cash. For a school or group paying later, use Reservations. See the Point of Sale article

Online

●      Customers find the season ticket on your booking pages, choose their seats and ticket types, and pay as normal

●      Link directly to it from your website’s season page so customers can book in one click

Seat availability

A seat can only be sold as a season ticket if it is free for every performance in the season. If it has been sold for even one show, it won’t be available as a season ticket. This is why season tickets are usually put on sale before single tickets.

What the customer receives

●      A confirmation email for the whole season. You can create a separate season ticket confirmation email in Email & Promotions > Template Designs

●      Tickets for every performance, using the e-ticket design chosen for the bundle. Customers who buy more than one bundle can download all their tickets in a few clicks

●      Optionally, a contact card: a reusable card whose barcode gives access to every performance they have booked, and which box office staff can scan to find their record when they buy a programme or merchandise

Flex packs

Flex packs let customers choose their own shows and get a discount when they book enough of them. Unlike a season ticket, the discount is applied to the normal single ticket prices, so there is no base event to set up.

●      Go to Sales & Payments > Bundles and choose Create Flex Pack

●      Enter a name, for example Pick 4 and Save

●      Add a description explaining the offer, for example Choose any 4 of our 10 autumn shows and save 20% on every ticket

●      Select the events customers can choose from

●      Set the minimum number of events they must choose

●      Choose the discount percentage

●      Click Create Flex Pack

Customers pick the shows they want, and once they have chosen the minimum number, the discount is applied to their order.

Managing bundles

If a bundle stops selling

A bundle becomes unavailable if an event in it becomes inactive, sells out or is unavailable, if the bundle’s booking category is removed from an event or added to a new one, or if no ticket types are common to every event. To fix it, deactivate the bundle and create a new one. Occasionally you may also need to remove the booking category tag from the events and try again.

Deactivate a bundle

●      Go to your list of offers and click Deactivate next to the bundle, for example once the season has started and season tickets are no longer on sale

Change which events are included

●      Open the event you want to remove in Calendar & Scheduling > Events

●      In the Booking Category field, click the X beside the category tag, then click Save

●      Create a new bundle with the correct events

Change the bundle image

●      Go to your list of offers and click the bundle’s current image or placeholder

●      Hover over the image, click the upload arrow and choose your season artwork. The limit is 20MB, but smaller images load faster

●      The new image shows at the box office and online

Promoter access

●      To let a promoter see a bundle, create a role for them, then choose them under Select Promoter when creating the bundle. Promoters must be assigned at creation

Reporting on bundles

●      Season ticket revenue is recorded against the bundle base event, so filter your reports by that event to see season ticket sales

●      Use the Orders Report in Reports & Insights to see who bought season tickets, which seats they have and how they paid

●      Use the Overview Report to see how many seats in each show have gone to season ticket holders

Tips

●      Put season tickets on sale before single tickets, so season ticket holders get the best seats

●      Always attach a customer to season ticket sales, so you can use Renewals next season. See the Renewals article in Ticketing Integration

●      Price season tickets so they are clearly better value than buying each show separately, and say so in the description

●      Use flex packs to encourage audiences to try shows they might not book on their own

●      Check the first event carefully before copying, as every setting is copied to the rest of the season
